We have some BIG news for you Barnes.

After a successful year in St Margarets Church in Putney and already close to being over-subscribed for the next academic year 2023-2024, we have decided to launch our GCSE science workshop in Barnes Methodist Church, the first lesson is free. 

The classes are suitable for students currently studying combined and separate sciences.* Classes will be predominantly Chemistry & Physics based but can be altered / additional classes added for Biology based on demand. All classes are based on the AQA curriculum. We will only be boarding a maximum of 10 students so it will be on a first come first serve basis.

Classes are taught by Putney local Ms Jaenette Satherlund, who is the Head Teacher & Director at Bump Your Grade. Jaenette has a wealth of experience teaching KS3/KS4 GCSE science in numerous high-performing schools both comprehensive and private. These include Bolingbroke Wandsworth & Radnor House Twickenham. Jaenette is a fully qualified teacher holding both QTS & PGCE qualifications and is fully DBS checked. 

Lessons are delivered using evidence-based techniques that ensure the students maximize their exam grade potential, by making hard topics easy to understand and accessible to all. The curriculum for the science classes is focused on reteaching and recapping content based on GCSE Paper 1 with the core goal of achieving maximum grades in both GCSE Mocks & GCSE Exams. Students who cannot attend any of the lessons (due to sickness etc) will have the weekly assignment emailed to them for completion. 

Chemistry Paper 1

This content is primarily designed for year 9/10 KS4 AQA GCSE students but can also be attended by year 11 students looking to revise and recap.

Physics Paper 1

This content is primarily designed for year 9/10 KS4 AQA GCSE students but can also be attended by year 11 students looking to revise and recap.

*Specific separate science content (Biology, Chemistry & Physics) will not be covered at this stage. However, if enough students request this an additional class can be arranged. Private tuition lessons are also available.
